The government needs to begin investing in digital monitoring of trade volumes and various income generations in Somalia which largely goes untaxed. Revenue collection has been historically low due to poor techniques employed to collect it. Many industries are not well engaged in revenue mobilization including lucrative businesses such as oil and telecommunications industry.
