When the Economic Development Roadmap (2017-2020) was first tabled for discussion by the Cabinet sub-committee on Economic Development, the document looked like an overly ambitious and improbable proposal. It included suggestions such as having the country produce and sell 6,500 metric tonnes of corn to WFP, constructing and rehabilitating 170 canals, 30 bridges and 10 wells for crop irrigation-especially banana, drafting and enacting insurance and industrial laws and many others.
