Somalia State Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Ali Omar and Somalia National Security Advisor Hussein Sheikh Moalim had a meeting with Somalia security partners that support Somalia in the fight against terror group Alshabab in Washington D.C.
Representatives form Somalia and Partners, includingQatar, Türkiye, the UAE, the UK, and the US, met to discuss Somalia’s security, state-building, and humanitarian priorities.
The meeting comes a day after U.S Charge d’Affaires Trenkle joined #Somalia Minister of Defense, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur& the Chief of Defence Force (CDF), Brigadier General Odowaa Yusuf Rageh at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu to review the delivery of weapons and ammunition in support of #SNA #Danab training & its fight the field.

U.S and Turkey has been supporting the Federal Government of Somalia in fighting Alshaba and provided much arial support and drones to push the terror group from large areas their controlled over the years.
The Somalia-partners meeting in D.C is important as Somalia is in the process of conducing the second phase of the security operations to clear the terror group from Galmudug and Hirshabeelle states.
Somalia President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has declared a total war against Alshabab, immediately taking office mid-last year.
